A graduate of the Pritzker School of Medicine in 1981, Dr. Lyon completed his General Surgical Residency at the University of California, San Diego Medical Center, and a fellowship in Vascular Surgery at Louisiana State University Medical Center.

In addition to his vast experience in all of the traditional vascular surgery procedures, Dr. Lyon has extensive experience in the treatment of carotid, aortic and lower extremity arterial problems using the newer, minimally invasive techniques.

Dr Lyon has done vascular research dealing with the biologic and physiologic aspects of atherosclerosis (build up of plaque) as part of an NIH (National Institutes of Health) funded Fellowship. He has received the Young Investigator's Award from the American College of Angiology and was the principal investigator on work awarded the Guthrie Vascular Award. He has also received various teaching and presentation awards and has been an innovator in minimally invasive vascular techniques and the use of specialized imaging for new vascular procedures. He performed the first endovascular graft procedures done at two prominent medical centers in New York and currently performs a wide range of vascular procedures. Additionally, he has developed special skills in the emerging field of vascular cosmetic procedures and has particular expertise in treating unsightly varicose veins, prominent facial vessels and other vascular problems resulting in compromised appearance issues. He works closely with a leading plastic surgeon to achieve superior results with these problems. He uses scientific knowledge; technology, experience and compassion to deliver personalized high quality care to his patients.
